I can't believe that it has been one month that you have been with us - outside of the womb.

The day we met 5/30/11 - Mommy's first time holding you in her arms

Papa introducing you to the world 5/30/11
In this time, I've learned your squeaks, creaks, murmers, wimpers, and cries. Along with memorizing every crinkle, roll, finger and toe.
I never thought that I could learn about someone so fast and so finite as you.
But you my dear sweet baby, you are a quick study, and astute observer - always taking in the world around you with your bright eyes, your pursed lips, your waving arms and kicking feet. (Great for swimming and surfing your Grandpa says).

You don't like diaper changes very much - it's those cold wipes that get your lungs working. But soft words from Mommy or Papa or anyone changing you, usually help to calm you down. You don't like outfit changes, you'd rather be warm and cozy in your spit up on onsie than get a new one put on. But again, soft words of encouragement help you realize that it'll be okay and it's for the best that you're in a fresh new outfit.
Grandpa Bruce always says "The dreaded changing table" whenever he took you in to change you on his visit in June.
Mimi says 'I have never seen so much lower discharge' in reference to your gas and poops and pees that you spouted out on a daily basis.
Speaking of lower discharge - you are the master of gas! You have it morning, noon and night! Sometimes you even wake yourself up in the morning with your farting! Papa and I crack up everytime! And he says "enjoy it now, because this is the only time it is socially acceptable!'
You eat like a champ - every day! You like to nurse on one side each feeding but sometimes when you are especially ravenous, you will drain one side in full and then start on the second but get too sleepy and full to finish. But that's okay! And despite Mommy's soreness, you solider on, helping by nursing so much and so happily - looking down and seeing your eyes crinkle as you smile and eat makes it all better.
You were a great burper the first few weeks, then about 3 weeks in, you decided that you liked to spit up better. Sometimes Mommy worries that you spit up your whole meal but then after consulting the books, learn that nope you probably didn't and a little spit up never hurt anyone. So we have learned to have a burp cloth either on our person at all times, or at least in each room of the house.
You sleep like a rockstar and have since day 1! You usually get up once a night, sometimes twice, but that's rare. We feed you around when we go to bed (or when Mommy goes to bed - Papa stays up too late!), between 9 and 10pm. You usually go to sleep pretty quickly after a diaper change and a swaddle and listen to your musical seahorse). Then you wake up around 2am and get your grub on. Usually you have trouhle falling back asleep but you manage, but sometimes it takes an hour of Papa coming over to put your paci back in your mouth and your eyes to get heavy again.
And then you wake up for the morning around 5 or 6 for another feeding followed by a nap.
After that you wake up 3 hours later (or Mommy wakes you) and eat again and then we go on an outing for the day - Target, the park, library, etc. We come home for lunch, you eat, and Mommy eats, then we take our afternoon nap for 2 or 3 hours - you in the pack n' play (or bassinet) and Mommy on the couch.
Then you wake up to eat about3 hours later and then you're alert for a little bit and we have tummy time, reading time, swinging time, and lots of smiles!
Mommy is learning your hunger cues and we feed whenever you are hungry - usually in the afternoon your tummy gets empty faster and you eat every hour to 2 and a half hours before dinner. Then you slow down and eat around 7 and then between 9 and 10 before bedtime.
You are the best thing that ever happened to me my dear sweet baby! Here's to the next month!

Love,
Mommy :)
