We came all prepared with our list of (um 15) questions, first up being 'Hi, can we video the doppler when you listen to his heartbeat!?' to which she graciously said yes and even kept it on there for longer and held up the dopplar for J to record the heartbeat!
sidenote: I can't get the video to load on the blog for some reason, but if we are friends on FB, you can find it there and take a listen! Good stuff! A whopping 135bpm!
She answered all of our questions (about the birth, process, my fears of early labor/delivery) etc.
Measured my belly, which measured at 30 weeks (I was really 32w2d) and felt around to see how LC was positioned.
Towards the end, J started asking about his size, last time he was measuring small - in the 40th percentile- so he was wondering if there was any change - she checked my chart again and suggested a growth ultrasound (our ears perked up - 'like TODAY - can we do it today!') to get a better look at how LC was growing since I was measuring a bit small (this is normal by the way, belly measurements can vary depending on the baby's position, the Mommy's body, the way she carries, etc).
So she checked with the ultrasound tech and sure enough, she was able to squeeze us in! WOOHOO!
We quickly gathered our things and went out to the waiting room to wait while she input our info into the computer. We were waiting for a while - turns out she had some IT troubles but got through it and got the computer working again - SHEW!
Then, the big moment -- the wand goes to my belly and BAM, there is LC squirming about in delight at being broadcast on the BIG SCREEN :)
We were thinking it'd be quick like when we got the heartbeat verification early on before the dopplar could pick it up - but no - it was long, like the 20 week anatomy scan one! Boy are we lucky!
She talked us through what we were looking at: the head first (head down but he is still able to flip around), head measurements, body, kidneys, stomach, heart (thump thumpin' along like a drum at 155bpm), thigh bones, arm bones, feet, and his adorable perfect lil face!
Sidenote: I asked first up if we could get another good shot of his face like she had done before, she said yes, so long as he cooperates with us - and he did! That's our boy!
She said he measured at 32w5d and weighed in at 4lbs 12ozs! Ohhhwheee! So we're right on target - Mommy is just a lil small but that's okay - and it sure doesn't seem small!
Next appt at 35weeks!
Oh and we got extra confirmation he is a boy hehe! So not the shy guy!
here are the pics:

His sweet sweet face!

Wiggle worm foot!

Nose and lips - I think he has his Papa's lips but we shall see!
And his handsome profile!
Can't wait to see him when he's out in the world!
So thankful for a great appointment and another sneak peek at our baby boy!

How lucky at you! I was just looking at our 20 week pics today wondering how he had changed. What a fun sneak peak! Congrats everything is going well.
