The time we FINALLY bought a computer monitor

Yep, this is a little late in the game, but J finally bought a computer monitor the other week. Until recently I've not been able to hop on here to do my blogging since the work week has been filled with childbirth classes, long work days, tired Mommy, and prepping for LC and my parents visit. So I documented with the intention of coming back to it - and now is that time folks :)

So you all know that J's monitor blew up in um...late AUGUST of 2010, yes, 2010. He has since been on the hunt for a new computer or just a new monitor. Checking prices, specs, sales, missing the big Black Friday sale unfortunately, for a WHOLE new system. Jerks, how do they sell out SO fast online! Anyway, once my computer went down, the hunt was on even moreso (a fire under the butt if you will), because being offline in our house is a quick way to insanity lol. As sad and scary as that is...although I'll admit we got a lot done in the time we were offline.

Anyway, J finally got it narrowed down to 2 monitors - and checked about 6 different places between online pricing and in-store pricing. Then one Thursday night when I'm at work, he is out perusing in person monitors and stumbles across on that for some reason, never came up in his searches...and he starts wildly emailing me from his little EnV2 (not a Droid or super fast, aka old skool!) phone at work asking me to check some reviews and specs online. Fortunately this happened around my break for the evening so I was able to do some lightening fast research for him with good results.

And he BOUGHT IT! HE BOUGHT THE MONITOR -- THE ONE THAT NEVER SHOWED UP IN SEARCHES AND THAT HE HADN'T AGONIZED OVER FOR AGES! ::gasps for air::

And, the SAME NIGHT, he SET IT UP! HE SET IT UP!!! See...





Clearly again, Lambert was more than enthused about this feat from his human papa!


Set up and launch = success! And it's been working so far so good!

We're in the midst of getting my laptop as well, which I decided on a mere 24 hours after mine broke. But come to find out that the one I want has several different versions, so I'm not sure which one to get because I'm no techie I don't really know what I'm working with. I passed the info on to my good friend, and computer guru J (not the huz, although he figured out there were several different versions of the same laptop so that's good), the sale wasn't just going off and on, no, it depended on the generation of laptop. Anywho, my friend J is going to take a look (thank you thank you!!!) and then hopefully I can make a well informed decision :) He helped me buy my computer for grad school and that worked great until it broke but it had a good long life!
