J: The Next Great Baker!

This post is especially for my friend Tiff who is an OUTSTANDING baker - always baking cookies and cakes and decorating them to a T! And her two kids, she's even got'em piping their cookies! We aspire to teach LC these things (and to get LC and J matching Star Wars aprons - yes, they sell them at William Sonoma - we've looked into it) :)

Anywho, they had a 'cupcake contest' at J's work today and he took part! Granted they were from a box, both icing and batter (hey, we all start small), he used orange flavor, to be different, and dyed his frosting orange, and put orange sprinkles on them - can you tell we like the Vols!

Look at the pride!

Of course we had to taste one! And I'm not a fan of orange cupcakes - I prefer vanilla with vanilla icing (pink if ya can) :) But darn, THEY WERE GOOD!

J later thought he may have won if he had put the sprinkles in a heart shape. But we digress. He got some great feedback from the "judges":

”They are very tasty, moist, and NOT overly sweet.” … “You are an excellent baker! You know how to balance just the right amount of sweet and not overwhelm the cupcake.”

Impressive!

There were 3 lone cupcakes left at the end of the day -- ONE of them didn't make it home - hmmm I wonder :)

So we'll have the last two tonite - YUM!
