I looked at a picture of a my good friend from NY, C -- she and my friend M got me a super cute diaper bag for LC. I love it so much and I can't wait to load it up with all of his things. But I miss my girls, so much. I miss going to Blockheads and getting chips n' salsa n guac. I miss having friends around to go through this with me - to share in this excitement face to face.
Once you are out of school the outlet for making friends basically disappears. Especially when you move to a new area. I have people at work and they are great but they are also not going to come over and pal around with me and go to movies or come over and watch tv or just hang out together.
There is nobody that I know here who is in the same boat as me - 21 weeks pregnant, trying to register, trying to build a nursery and nurture another life and not freak out everyday about how they are convinced that it will never be done in time.
I am not sleeping well - I toss and turn every night probably staying awake because of my own stubborn nerves. I even went to bed last night upset because our 2nd room (which has the door closed 100% of the time so that the cats don't get into the baby's things), is nowhere near done. The Christmas tree isn't even in the box properly, and when it is, I have no idea where it will be stored. We have gotten rid of everything that we can in that room through donations, etc. And there is still no closet space - a shame because it is a beautiful, big closet and could really come in handy.
And our second bathroom is virtually worthless because it is where the two cats litterbox is kept, so it is not fit for human use.
And our baby will have to use our master bathroom which also makes me sad. I wanted to get the hall bath set up with all of his stuff but really since there is no other place to put the litterbox, and we are not getting rid of the cats (I could NEVER do such a thing), so that room is virtually useless.
We haven't registered - I hope with all hope that this will happen next Saturday. J is going to call the store today to see if they have the crib etc in stock so we can just go ahead and buy it all.
I guess nobody else freaks out about these things. I've read so many other blogs where things are going along swimmingly, and the Momma is busy hand making special touches to add to the nursery, and painting is done, and crib and furniture is ordered and assembled, and the Momma can go and sit in her rocker in the nursery and breathe in the nice air and envision rocking her baby to sleep in a calm and serene room.
I'm not there yet.....

Miss you too! And totally missed this post. For some reason, in the last week blogspot stopped showing the whole blog on their mobile site. I can only see the top post on my Blackberry :( - Meg
