A Present Day Prayer

My Aunt B emailed me this special prayer for us and our baby. It was so moving that I had to post it on here. But let me preface it with : J and I say grace every night before dinner, and all meals when we are home together and this baby is a constant reminder of faith and love and hope that we have with one another and that we hope to grow as our baby grows both inside and out.

O God, thank you for the miracle of new beginning life. Bless E and J, and let them know that you are ever with them throughout their pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Bless them as they eagerly await their opportunities to love and nurture. Especially bless their baby. Keep him/her, your tiniest of souls, safe in the womb and under your heart until s/he is old enough, big enough, strong enough, mature enough, and healthy enough to be born into this world to be a shining example of your love and grace. We ask all this in the name of your own dear child, whose birth we soon celebrate, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.


Aaaand it made me cry AGAIN just reading over it. Shew. I plan on posting it in our bedroom as well as the baby's room as a constant reminder of our blessings and that we are being watched over and guided along this journey together.

ps- don't you just love the part 'tiniest of souls', that is my favorite part...well the whole thing is amazing but that wee phrase resonates with me especially since we've seen our tiny being inside with a tiny flickering heart that is constantly being filled with love.
