I didn't know NASA was making strollers these days!

Most likely the first of many stroller trips, because as we all know the stroller and/or carseat combo is a big deal as far as safety is concerned. Along with comfort and style of course.

Being that we were 5weeks 6 days pregnant on Saturday, October 2, we decided to take a trip to the local maternity store / children’s store (they are next to each other and absolutely fabulous). We have been before and love it! I know I know, it’s early, but what else do you expect from two super eager and more anxious parents-to-be . Plus, you do know how long it takes us to make big decisions..so yeah, it is best we get started early. Went in, I puttered around the maternity clothing section to see what I was working with. Aaaah a fall pregnancy, into winter, into spring….nice assortment of snuggly super cute clothes! I can’t wait to have a lil bump and show it off!
Meanwhile, J made a beeline for the children’s area where they have crib set-ups and changing tables and clothes and all sorts of kiddie accessories. Including..a GIANT stroller that he must have spotted walking up to the store since it was in the window display. Um, no wonder, the NASA-esque stroller cost $900 dollars…yes, $900 dollars. And that was only for the stroller base and the baby carseat that went in it. Once the baby gets bigger, you have to purchase ANOTHER seat to fit on the stroller base. (Always trying to get money out of you these baby manufacturing companies). The draw of the stroller: a 360 swivel and some cool adjustable handles. J fell instantly in love with the fact that the baby can look at you, be swiveled to the side, or look out front and see the world. Although why you’d want to swivel the baby to be going sideways is beyond me, but options people. He even strolled around with it in the store and demonstrated the swivel and how to get the carseat in and out of the base. Impressive huh!
And, oddly enough, at our next stop, Old Navy, we saw someone WITH the stroller! So naturally I quizzed her about it. Verdict: her baby sits to low in it and is too active therefore uncomfortable. Plus it is very heavy. A pro though, it is easy to maneuver around stores etc with it. Our verdict: We will not be purchasing this $900 monstrosity just so our baby can be swiveled at 360 degrees anytime his or her little heart desires. And, the search continues.
Ps- Remember J’s computer research, yeah, still going on. Stroller research: Just beginning and a little more of a hard and fast deadline with this one, um, thank GOODNESS!
