The day we found out

J's Birthday. Or shall I say, Daddy’s birthday. Because this is the day that we found out we were pregnant! At only 11 days past ovulation, I took a digital pregnancy test (Clearblue Easy, they are the BEST and come in a 5 pack for $18 at Walmart).I took the test in the morning after J had left for work. Why did I wait you ask? Because I had a feeling (instinct) that I was pregnant and wanted to test early to surprise J. Even though he almost foiled my whole plan by saying ‘Hey, so you don’t want to pee on a stick this morning for my birthday do you!” To which I said, ‘nope, too early, can’t risk it”….However, after he left, I had other plans and fortunately, it worked! And I was! Now the hard part, waiting THE ENTIRE WORK DAY to tell him! Eek! I went through the day randomly thinking about it, getting SUPER excited, then resuming work. Needless to say, it was an extra long day! But I had my plan and I was sticking to it!I got a little purple gift bag and some white tissue paper, and a purple bow (one of J’s fave colors) put a bow on the test (cheesy, maybe, but go with me here), and put it in the gift bag. Then I got a card (all at Target on my lunch break by the way), and wrote a note to the new Daddy in town, from our baby. I come home from work, totally looking forward to my gift (and our amazing dinner) and my other gift (a gift card to the Viking store so J can take some cooking classes that he drools over), and try not to grin too big, but present him with his purple gift bag. (I’m big on gifts, opening them first thing in the morning, or before a dinner celebration). He’s lucky he made it this far w/out opening my other gift. At any rate, he opens the gift bag, grins and says ‘for real!!!’ and I said yep, that’s what it says! He then read the card, and tears welled up in his eyes (so sensitive he is). We hugged and went on to have a lovely meal together, eating al fresco and a super yummy restaurant. And our little secret, our little miracle, juuust beginning to take shape inside of me and definitely taking a biiig spot in our hearts.

The day we found out....can you see there is a wee babe in my belly juuust starting to take shape :) I didn't think so, but we knew s/he was in there!
