So we're still chuggin' along unpacking. I think that we're really making progress so that's good. The kitchen is just about done - need to make a Wal*Mart run for some extra shelving (who makes cabinets so small and unwieldy!) It's going to be cozy in here but I wouldn't have it any other way. All that is really left is our 2nd bedroom which has several boxes of books , cds, and dvds in it (which I'm not sure if we'll even unpack all of them considering it is a LOT of books and we don't really want to overload our seemingly shrinking living space). But don't get me wrong, things are looking good and I really love our apartment and the layout of it all! Bless large closets and a walk in master closet and bathroom! - I will post pictures once it is set up properly. I know I keep saying that, I'm also waiting to get our desks set up properly so that we can set up the router so that I can start using my computer (that's another reason for the delay in pictures).
Yesterday it rained and we ended up staying in all day working on things and relaxing - kinda nice to not have any schoolwork to do! And today we spent the morning working on things (mainly the kitchen) and are getting ready to head out to run some errands. I'm off tomorrow so looking forward to having that extra day to get things organized. My goal is to be able to get back into a regular schedule with cooking our meals at home, getting my exercise DVDs out and back on track with that, and being able to sit down and just relax. There may be a little more time before that can be official but it's getting there. I am not a patient person as my family and friends know, so this is a hard transition for me considering that things have been in flux since about December 8 when I accepted my new job.
I'm definitely learning a lot at work - I swear people up north do not ask the kinds of questions that people down south do - I'm really putting this master's degree to work and it feels great - overwhelming at times, but great because it keeps me on my toes and I'm able to explore new databases etc in order to answer the questions. And I have great co-workers who are able to help me out as well.
It's been fun getting used to the new surroundings and getting used to driving again! That's something that is going to take time. J say that I make turns too wide and getting used to this 70mph on the highway is a whole other beast! I'm not sure that my car likes going that fast! The first time I drove 70 was the other night and it felt like the first time I took the car up to 40 when I was first learning to drive - fearfully fast!
At any rate, enough rambling. Time to head off for errands. The weather is beautiful here! The sun came out and it must be in the mid to high 50s today! Even I don't need to wear a jacket!
