Remember that post a few weeks ago (if I was super cool I'd hyperlink back to it but no lol) - where I was freaking OUT about LC starting in the pre-toddler room, and the forced naps, and forced eating times, and how 10:30am was entirely too early for lunch, and how he would never adjust and we'd be forced to keep him on this rigid nap/food cycle schedule on weekends?
Phfsst...all crazy talk I tell you.
After 2 weeks (has it really only been 2 weeks!) in the pre-toddler room, LC has adjusted like a CHAMP!
The first week they kept him on his snack at 10:30 when the other kids got lunch, and his lunch at 2:15 when the other kids got their snack.
Well apparently LC knows what's up because he didn't want any part of staying up in his chair to eat while the other kids ate and then popped back down to play. His longer meal during their snack, and his shorter meal during their lunch was proving for an un-focused, yet still eating, LC.
So we switched it up. His awesome teachers suggested it and we were all for it.
And the napping - OH the napping :)
He does it! Like as in no adjustment period of a week, as in, it's 9am, he's in his little pack n' play, and he's out w/in 15 minutes or less. For like an hour and a half to 2 hours!
And 1pm, same thing - for 2 HOURS!
I'm so proud of how well adjusted he is in such a short amount of time, and how how social he is - always crawling over to his friends, immediately getting tangled up in playing and SHARING - he is always playing with a toy and then handing it off to me or J or one of his little friends, for us to play with it too. Very generous little man :)
So he's doing great - we're getting more finger foods in at lunch - try to go with a jar of food and a fresh fruit either offered by the daycare or by us (we are fans of the fruit cups of diced fruit in its own juice). And then for dinner all finger foods, or, as you saw in my last post, cheese and fruit.
The weekends, we try to keep him a little on schedule, but we bounce around, so long as it's 3 or 4 hrs between meals, he's cool. Naps are different, sometimes the morning nap doesn't happen til 12:30 but when it does it lasts for 2.5 hours.
That's how we roll.
