LC's first bath!

On Father's Day - June 19 - after the cord and all remaining shards were safely out, we gave LC his first bath - a real treat for the Papa!

We read the books (Baby's First Year - great resource if you're into that sort of thing) about how to set up, how to put them in the tub, and how to bathe - keep in mind, we also learned this in our Newborn 101 class a few months ago - but...nothing like a little brushing up, and using a real baby instead of the fake ones in the class right - same goes for the carseat installation & getting the baby in there safely - that's another post for another time.

Sidenote: all things are different when done with a human baby instead of a fake one, or not one at all (i.e. carseat).

Back to the story.

We got all set up:

sidenote: I'm now very glad that we have a gazillion washclothes, we use them so much!

sidenote: the temperature turtle, totally works! beeps until the water is the right temp! yahoo!

And then we carefully put LC in the tub:

And we slowly poured the water on him

Well, J did all of this, I narrated and talked to LC and took pics :)

And LC felt the water and thought 'woooow....this is pretty nifty stuff you two have going for me!' He got real quiet and just lay there soaking it all in.

Can't you tell he's like contemplating this whole ordeal :)

And here he is with his wet hair - nothing like a wee babe with a wet head huh!

He did great! Got all nice and fresh and clean and only started crying when the water dropped a couple of degrees which was apparently cold to him. His little lip quivered when he cried. Almost made me cry and made us all 3 hurry it up a little. His patience was gone lol!

But a great experience we can't wait to do again!
