Everyone keeps asking if the nursery is done. My response: yep! My real response in my head: um,....yes, it's done...if you ignore the box of books on the floor, the baby tub that needs to be stored somewhere, the bassinet that needs to be moved to our room but we want to wait until the baby is here since it is easier to keep the cats out of it and the door closed at this point. And the glider that we need to get from J's brother - but need room for first - which will happen soon. Really it is just a process of rearranging his room a bit - buying a bookshelf for his books, moving the pack n' play into the closet (which J has been going through almost daily and picking out boxes of DVDs and CDs to sell at our local used bookstore to make room in the closet and get cash for any extra baby stuff we need off of our list - that never ends too). So yeah, the nursery is done. The laundry is just about done - we had our last shower at my work this week and I have a few things to wash, other older clothes have been hung up to be washed closer to when they will actually be worn.
So okay, we're "ready" right?
Besides, I've read it's only with first babies that the parents are obsessed with having the nursery 100% ready before the birth, despite the fact that the baby will hardly see the room for the first few months of life. Although he will be getting changed in there so he will be exposed to it :) And his swing is in there assuming he prefers it and will sit in it in his room, plus he will most likely be fed in there in the glider, so yeah, it is important to me that our nursery is in tip top shape. Luckily, it pretty much is.
