In my fits of restless sleep last night I got to thinking about life altering events - but ones that come in a good way.
The second J asked me to marry him, at my Dad's house, with laundry and packing ahead of us, no ring, just a heart bursting with love and wanting me to be his wife right then and there, taking care of the rest, the 'proper' proposal later. It was all him, I was all me, and without hesitation, I said YES!
Our paths turned, August 2, 2008 was the most exciting day of our lives.
A year and a half later, we packed up our things and made a move down south reaching for a new life, one that we had been wanting for a while, new jobs, family close by - driving off - December 28, 2009 - the most exciting day of our lives.
The day my master's degree diploma came in the mail - and J got it matted and framed and we hung it smack dab in our living room - March 2009 - the most exciting day of our lives.
The day we found out we were pregnant - September 14, 2009 - the most exciting day of our lives
The day we saw our baby's heartbeat for the first time - October 13, 2009 - the most exciting day of our lives
There are so many life altering events, paths that would only be taken if the events leading up to them happened in the order that they did.
And here we stand, paving our own path, making our own journey, making our own family, waiting for our pot of gold at the end of our rainbow to see if we will be having tea parties and braiding hair and playing dress up in ruffle dresses, or if we will be playing catch with the baseball, rough housing on the floor, and dressing a dapper young gentleman to the nines because we can :)
