Weekend Recap

How does Sunday come sooo fast and Monday through Friday go soo slow!? I had off the ENTIRE weekend this weekend and have been looking forward to it for a while - not that we had any special plans or anything, but two days off in a row, the same two days as J, is always a treat! Although we didn't conquer the world, we managed to have some fun and be productive!

Friday night was the big Homecoming football game at J's high school, we were supposed to go with his parents and sister and her husband, however last minute things changed, so it ended up just being us. Ever adjusting, we went on our way. Chilly evening! I had a cheeseburger (love cheeseburgers from the grill), and we watched the game. Unfortunately by halftime, J's team was getting stomped and the temps had dropped and despite our jackets, we were chilly. J looked at me and said 'you ready to go?', I said, 'what! where did that come from!?' he said it was chilly and wasn't too much fun since the game wasn't exciting and they weren't winning. Being that I was chilly too, we decided to head on out. We stopped by Starbucks and picked up some vanilla lattes to warm up - soo good! And headed home, had a little dessert and then headed to bed.

Yesterday we were in our pajamas / leisure clothes until about 2ish. However, don't knock productivity in pjs! I got the apartment cleaned, J went through some tubs of old clothes and old books and prepped to make a Good Will and used bookstore run. So later in the afternoon, we made a recycle run, a Good Will run, a used bookstore run, and stopped off at his parents house to drop off a program and a souvenir cup from the football game the night before. Then, since it was getting on dinner and we were out and starving, we decided to go to the original place we wanted to go to for my birthday (which was closed on my birthday). A local, family owned Italian (I-talian) restaurant in town. It was SO CUTE! A little place, not too busy, not too loud (we tend to not enjoy eating in loud eating establishments, both soft spoken I guess), and I had a spinach ravioli special baked w/ mozzerella cheese and J had some 3 pasta (manacotti, veal, meat) baked under mozerella too. And it came with a family salad bowl and some garlic butter rolls. So good! Naturally my meal was enough for about 4 small dinners, so I just had a little bit and will have leftovers for today til Tuesday most likely!

Today we got up and since it was such a lovely day, not too cool in the morning, and bright sun shining, we went for a nice 2 mile walk at the local park. Trying to get J back into doing this with me - while it's nice to go alone, it's also nice to have a walking buddy. And the chatting is always a bonus :)

Then we picked up a newspaper, and J is clipping coupons while watching the Steelers game. Nice lil Sunday afternoon if you ask me. We feel very lucky that we are able to have somewhat of a relaxing weekend, not full of errands and bill paying, school work, work work that's for sure!

How was your weekend!? Are you like me and feel that you have to conquer the world in one weekend!?

I'm off next weekend too, not sure what's in store then yet but whatever it is, I'll be off so that'll be a good thing :)
