Life is Good

& hopefully I didn't just jinx it - but we seemed to have fallen into a little routine for our little family over the past few weeks!

LC is consistently sleeping through the night - as in 7pm til 6am - and I thought the day would NEVER come - but it is bittersweet.

He eats 3 solid meals a day - we're transitioning to more finger foods - figures we get this news to transition shortly after we stocked up on baby food - oops! And I don't understand how he is supposed to eat finger foods and not throw it all over the daycare room when they feed him in a bumbo without a tray.

We've dropped the ball a bit on the sippy cup training, since we're so active in our hour before bedtime lately!

Full of walks in the stroller along our apartment complex parking lot, rolling the ball between LC and Daddy and I, army crawling like lightening, and as of yesterday - walking while holding Mommy or Daddy's hands! Yes, the wee boy takes actual steps, like forward steps! And he LOVES IT! He does a few steps, sits down, takes a breather, then holds out his hands agian for your to take them and lift him to standing, where he walks a few more steps - sometimes on flat feet, sometimes on tippy toes!

He also rocks on all 4s in his playpen and crib - a sign that crawling is on the way!

AND speaking of signs - he now signs for MILK! This started a couple of nights ago - we use basic signs - milk, mommy, daddy, diaper, more, and all done on a daily basis (when we can remember), and hope that just the repetition and incorporation of it in his daily activities will help him figure it out, Apparently we did somethign right b/c he really knows milk! At first we thought it was just for 'food' but he did it before and during nursing so yeah, he's got it! :)

He had his dinner outside on our balcony last night and loved every bite - being out with nature is really his thing - he watches the big blue sky, the clouds, and the birds - oh how he loves the birds, especially big flocks of them that go racing around the big blue sky! We use this time to show him the sign for bird - maybe he'll do that one next :)

He is so special and we treasure every moment with him! So many advancements in our wee hour before bedtime! And he is READY for bed by 7pm no doubt about it! Rubbing his eyes around 6:30ish when he eats his dinner.

And my guilt about putting him to bed early (and with daylight savings time it still being basically broad daylight) = zilch. I know he needs it, he knows he needs it, and we're all cool with it :) And we get SO much done in our hour together that we all go to bed happy and fulfilled!
