The Great Crib Building of 2011 Continued

Then, this past Saturday, March 19, after we had a new monitor (fabulous by the way), and we had backed up the data, we took another stab at the crib...

Unwrapping the legs was the first thing we did - however oddly, it is the LAST step in the crib building process, so clearly one Papa and his pregnant wife cannot do this together as it involves lifting the entire crib - well we could have done it but, we had to call in for back up - more on that momentarily...

Then we divvied up the crib sides to right and left

J took over the right side, and me the left.

Clearly this was not complicated, just screwing in some nails, but hey, it was fun!

And at 10am on a Saturday morning, in pajamas, with wild hair, and coffee cups resting on the windowsill, who doesn't like building a crib right!

Almost there! 3 sides up! Shew!

This is where we had to call in for back-up. J's brother, Uncle M came over when we couldn't get the spring part that goes under the mattress to fit

Shocker though, we had overanalyzed the directions and apparently the spring board was upside-down, and once M got here and we all turned it over, voila! It fit! Thank the maker!!

Now to ensure it is level - um, it wasn't, not 100%, but about 98.5% and M and I reassured J that the baby would not roll down the crib, or sleep poorly due to it not being 100% level. Sheesh lol!

There is a light outlet behind the crib, so naturally, we filled it with our protectors that my Dad got us for Christmas. I took this pic at J's request, just for my Dad! He's so proud I know :)

Praise the heavens! It is complete!
