We do, we do! So lately we've been keeping the door open at night since Rocky and Lambert like to snuggle up with us and sleep, for the most part of the night. Usually they behave all night, but lately they've been getting up around 4 or 5 am (about 2 hours before we need to get up for the day) and playing, and meowing like their lives depend on it. Well I say 'they', but I'm really referring to Rocky.
Don't let his cuteness fool you - he has a mouth on him like you've never heard. His favorite thing to do is to hop up on the bed the minute he hears the alarm go off and stand in front of my face and let out a nice long meow to wake me up.
And then there's Lambert....
Who J has coined "the ring leader". You see, Lambi doesn't talk much - well hardly at all. He gets a lot of purring in, but actual meows are few and far between. Rocky does enough talking for the both of them. Anyway, back to the morning story -- typically the alarm will go off, Rocky will stand in front of me and meow, while Lambi sits nicely on the blanket at my feet flopped over waiting for a belly rub. Innocent enough right? Oh not so. Lately if they are behaving well enough when we go to bed, we keep the door open, and then if they misbehave and start playing in the wee hours of the morning, they both get booted and hope that the door doesn't hit them in the tail on the way out. Case and point: this morning -- they are wrestling up and down off the bed, down the hall, back up the hall, on the bed, off the bed - you get the idea -- so J boots them both -- at 5:20am. As soon as the door closes, Rocky begins meowing incessantly. For the next hour! And then as soon as we open the door, he comes in, looks around, and then promptly trots out and down the hall. Insatiable I tell you.
Don't let them fool you - they may be cute, but they are trouble with a capital T. But we adore them and all of their purring and rolls on the floor belly rub requests make up for it!
